Big Daddy Scrap is a family-owned business that always treats their customers like family! Big Daddy Scrap the brainchild of Mike and Tammy Spatola. They have a long history in the automotive and scrap metal industry. Mike and Tammy started their first business at the age of 18 - a towing company called M&T Towing. Later, they would sell out to go work for Mike's brother-in-law at A-Reliable Auto Parts in Blue Island, IL. In 1998, Mike and Tammy purchased Speedway Auto Parts at 551 E. Lincoln Highway in Chicago Heights, IL and within the first two years changed the name to Speedway Auto Parts & Wreckers and formed a self-serve auto parts yard at this location known as U-Pull-It.

With multiple family members working with them - son Ken, son-in-law Dan, daughter Tiffany, and son Mike III - they formed Big Daddy Scrap in 2008. The scrap industry is what Mike found to be his passion. So in 2013, Mike and Tammy sold Speedway Auto Parts & Wreckers and U-Pull-It to LKQ Corporation. Now, Mike and Tammy plan to dedicate 100% to Big Daddy Scrap.

Big Daddy Scrap opened in 2007 in Chicago Heights Illinois to provide a clean, customer friendly, and honest scrap facility with year round amazing prices by Mike and Tammy Spatola as an addition to their Auto salvage facility. The Spatola Family has been in the scrap metal industry for over 30 years. With their auto parts yard sale in 2013 Big Daddy Scrap was moved to 1111 Washington Street Chicago Heights, llinois and is now owned and operated with the same high standards by Mike Spatola, Mike Spatola III (Opie), Josh Friend, and Tiffany Friend. 


Big Daddy Scrap has now expanded its Chicago Heights location and moved to 551 E. Lincoln Highway Chicago Heights, IL as well as 4441 W. 1000 S Road Kankakee, IL location.
